It sometimes makes the game lag, but I've never had any problems. All it does is compress the file.

AdventWolf hit it on the spot, but to explain a little more, the lag comes from uncompressing and reading/ executing that part on the game. Lag is rare, but it can sometimes happen. The compression has been especially made for PSP game backups. It's much like .rar or .zip compressions for the computer, only especially tailored for the build of the .iso backups the PSP is capable of creating.

The good consequence: extra space available on the memory stick.
The bad consequence: rare lag.

It is possible to dummy/ delete files in the game to make sure that a certain game can take up less space, like a game that is just over 1gb, in order to make it fit on a smaller card. Dummying/ deleting files does not take place when you make a .ISO file into a .CSO file though, so don't worry.

alright thanks, i was wondering because i was trying to cram as many of my psp isos on a memory stick, but i would rather have fewer with no lag than more with a lot of lag. Thanks!
