Analog Stick Problems

Ok So We Have All Been Over This 1000+ Times But My Analog Stick is Moving Downwards Without Me Touching It This Is A Pain While Playing Games Like Final Fantasy Because Zack Is Always Moving In The Opisite Direction and It Doesnt Make Any Sence Because When i Bought My Gold Faceplate I Got A Complete New Analog To And I Opend It Up Last Night To See What The Problem Is With It And I Noticed It Was Really Dusty So I Cleaned It Off And Its Still Doing This...


I Remember Hearing Of A Program That Completly Shuts The ANalog Stick Off What Was It Called Or If You Have Any Ideas On How To Fix It Thats Good Too...

I have this problem all the time. What has happened is part of the stick has popped out and has got stuck. What you need to do is move the stick in a circular motion while appling force downward. You may hear some popping, but thats ok. Just keep doing that to it pops back in. If that doesn't, take the anolog stick of and rotate the little piece on your psp 180º in either direction and the repeat the first step. It may take a while but will go back in; just play with it.

Is there a setting on the psp to calibrate the analogue stick? You probably tried that though.

You likely have sweat and grime in there.

You may need to carefully take the analog stick apart and clean it. I recommend alcohol and a lint free swab.

There is a spring inside the analog stick. Pay attention to how it comes apart and try not to crimp the spring or you will be permanently out of calibration.

Of course you could buy a replacement online. last I checked they cost $20. A lot of money considering what you get.

Try to clean it first then see if you can get a replacement from a broken PSP. Purchasing a replacement would be my last resort.
