You likely have sweat and grime in there.
You may need to carefully take the analog stick apart and clean it. I recommend alcohol and a lint free swab.
There is a spring inside the analog stick. Pay attention to how it comes apart and try not to crimp the spring or you will be permanently out of calibration.
Of course you could buy a replacement online. last I checked they cost $20. A lot of money considering what you get.
Try to clean it first then see if you can get a replacement from a broken PSP. Purchasing a replacement would be my last resort.
The programmers you will one day be looking to hire are the ones reading the tech news sites right now.
