ugh

ok so i bricked my psp. i figured,"no problem i'll just re pandora it." However, my original battery got ruined (through a totally unrelated event) and all i had was an extended life one. i looked at the compatibility test and it said it would work. so i get to opening the case (which is MUCH harder on these)and im just about through. when sparks flew from the battery. I know i wasn't supposed to use a metal knife but i needed something sharp since the case was much more durable. is my battery ruined? cause im afraid to touch it now
