LUA Scripting help needed.

Well i am quite new to lua coding, and i have found a few tutorials on how to do some stuff.. i can do a few things... but i thought i could try something like a mario style game.. but my own creation... anyway i need help with making a room.. like a mario stage... its a long stage..all i know is how to make a player walk left and right and and in text/images... if someone could help me code out a longish stage i would realy appreciate it. thank you.
