Anybody else having problems with Fianl Fantasy 8.

I'm using 3.40 oe. When I play Final Fantasy 8 it tends to freeze up during battle. It's not my disk because it works fine on my psx. When it freezes it makes one constant sound and video just stay there. Sometimes I can press home button to reset it, other times I can't even turn off the power button, it just turns off after a while. Anybody elso having this problem, please help/

Is it doing it at the same point every time you play? If so, you could just have a bad rip. Try downloading a different one. Also, you can try setting the CPU speed to 333mhz.

O and is it a 2+ disc game?

No I ripped it serval times and it still freezes in the same spot. I ripped and converted it with a different program and it seems to fix it. And yes it's a 4 disk game

This is the report on the compatibility of that game...

Crashes at comm tower - some reports indicate that not running in wide screen mode increases compatibility. Crashes upon draw/casting Scan upon first leaving Balamb Garden. Freezes in battles while casting or drawing any kind of magic or using Quistis' Limit Break sometimes.

So it's nothing wrong with your methods, its just that game...just gotta wait for a newer custom firmware with better psx emulation.
