Homebrew Help

I am running 3.40 OE-A (give me some reasons to upgrade if you are going to tell me too...) and everytime I try to start an emulator or a homebrew game my psp does its normal logo intro then it turns off... but the green light is still on... anyone know how to fix this?

they are saved in the GAMES150 folder

hmm i dont know why it does that but you should upgrade to 3.52 M33 because homebrew works fine its newer and it has more choices for custom xmb but the only thing is its not made by Dark alex

it could be because of your kernel status. had the same problem but when I changed my kernel to 1.50 in the recovery menu, It started working.
also about what newpspdude was saying isnt really a bad idea cuz there has been major updates making homebrew run smoothly.
Image I'm rocking Dark-Alex's 3.71m33 firmware with his 1.50 kernel update for the fat psp.............I want a slim now >.<!

well i dont know how to go about upgrading... this psp came like it is... recovery mode is when you hold down R during start-up right? Everytime I do that it shuts the system down as well.

Make sure your psp is completely off. If your trying to get into recovery while in sleep mode, it wont work. To turn your psp completely off push and hold the power switch up until your screen turns black and the power light starts to blink (takes about 4 or 5 seconds). If you just push it up and let go right away this will put it into sleep mode which isnt what you want.

Anyways, once your psp is completely powered off...turn it back on and hold the r trigger button until you see a recovery menu pop up. Once your recovery menu pops up, scroll to configurations and hit x. The scroll to "homebrew folder", if it shows 3.40 kernel then hit x and it will change it to 1.50 kernel. Now exit and you should be set.

alright... im getting nothing...

Now my psp just shuts down but the backlight stays on... so all i see is a glowing black screen.

Before that happens though the psp logo's background (the white one with the glare effect) gets brighter just for a bit before it shuts off.

well the only that that is making my psp do that now is my emulators... everything else runs fantastic

aside from some Super Mario Game I had (the one that came with the homebrew sampler or whatever)

My ISOs are working, my PBPs are working, and most of the games I have installed on them (PvP Pong, KETM, Bomberman Arena, and Space Invaders) work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Does the type of emulator I have matter... as in will certain ones run on my 3.40 OE-A and certain ones that wont run on my 3.40 OE-A?

Please prod me in the right direction...

okay i got NesterJ to work now im working on an SNES emulator... I had SNES9x (by far my favorite on the pc) but when i try to load my roms nothing comes up... do I have to have them all in zip format?

also I have a copy of Vandal Hearts on my computer (a must play for everyone out there) but it says it is just a file... there is no specific file type listed... which is weird right? What do I do with that to make it work on my psp? It is a PS1 title... but there is no EBOOT.pbp and my computer isnt reading it as an iso file...

Just curious...what did you name your homebrew folders? Because i know if you name them a certain way it will reboot your psp. Also, i noticed you said you put your homebrew in games150 ...if this is true the folder needs to be named game150 (without the s)

Your roms go in your roms folder...if you dont have one you can either manually make one, or just place all your roms in the main folder.
