Do you get posting credit for news comments

I was just looking at the front page and decided to look at the comments on the news for once, and then i wondered whether or not you would get post credit for comments just a random question not one of my nutorious spamming plots

Nope you don't. It's just comments, doesn't go towards the forums in any way (that I know of). No you can't spam the comments on old news posts to get your post count up
