ver 2.6 IC1003 downgrade (help)

hey i really really want to downgrade my psp, but at the same time i dont want to break it or "brick" it. my version is 2.6 and has that dreaded IC1003 in the UMD slot. im hoping you guys can help me with downgrading and whatever comes next lol sorry im new to this whole thing. pls tell me the steps. thanks alot!!! =)

upgrade to 2.71, then use the 2.71 down grader.

psp-hacks.com has a legit 2.71 update.

there are so much 2.71 updates which one should i choose.
