Strange windows 7 64 bit nvidia driver issue

I have a strange problem with 7 64 bit and my nvidia drivers. Every game I try to play (Borderlands, Operation flashpoint: dragon rising, Fallout 3. Any 3d game) Will crash while starting. Seems to all have Direct X errors. So I just tried reinstalling my Driver and when I do that they work fine. But when I restart the errors return. And I have to reinstall again to get them to work. So really what I have to do I reinstall my driver every time I start windows. Anyone know of a fix? Im using a 9600 GSO

Tell Nvidia so they can get started on looking into the cause of the issue.

Make sure you have the most updated version of the driver. If you can get a hold of it, I would even try the previous version of the driver just to see if that helps.

I got the newest lol. And I have tried older. Same thing:(

False_Chicken where the hell have you been man!!! You certainly need to stop by and chat more than what you're currently doing.

What are the exact error messages saying? I bet I can find a fix if the fine folks at Nvidia can't help you out. Also, did you use an ATi card before switching to Nvidia? If so, maybe need to reinstall older drivers.

nope. have not tried the beta. and the games give me errors such as some line is not found in d3x3.dll or something dx related. in borderlands a message box shows up showing about tweleve of these errors. all games do about the same till i reinstall. im not at my pc right now but im using driver verson 180.31 or so. because borderlands would not work with the newest and my friend is using 7 64 bit too and thats the version he had so he told me to get it. and i would love to stop by more lol. but im busy trying to get this unholy beast thats known as windows 7 to work properly. seems like one problem after another. my friend has no problems so i dont know whats up lol. even went out and got 7 certified hardware.

if it gives a .dll error google it download it and put it in your windows32 files along with the other .dll i had a DiVX error that got fixed just by doing the above.

It not just like one or two its dozens. and the files are there. I checked. Installing the driver fixes it until i restart. Which is strange. then i gotta install it again.

Have you made sure you have registered the dll files, because sometimes you have to register them to the computer so it knows they are there.
Anyways currently downloading wii 64bit 7 XD on 32 atm and i have a 64 bit computer lol.

Yeah 64 bit is a good move. much faster in my opinion. I get about 20 extra frames with dolphin 64 bit then on 32

If the problems fix after you install new drivers, but after you restart, the problems happen again... then it sounds like your drivers are being "rolled-back" each time you shut down or aren't being installed properly when you attempt a shut down. Install the drivers and then restart the computer and check which drivers are installed after you restart. It sounds like they are just falling back on the old stuff and thus - giving you the errors again. Either that, or it seems Win7 is "autodetecting" which drivers to install from the internet. That's a feature that works really, REALLY well for me, but it's not the best for everyone and you might have to deactivate that. Not sure.
