Try just downloading Mp3's off the web and then concert it to your phone.

I do not know what phone you have but I have hacked both of mine with Verizon to allow me to transfer files from the computer.

I am sure your phone accepts Transflash cards. You could use a card reader to transfer files to the card then load it on your phone.

Most phones today read MP3 files and MIDI files.

I think MIDI files are louder but it is harder to find the perfect one.

Do you have a specific ringtone in mind?

What model phone do you have?

If I have hacked it, I will tell you everything I know.

No, you need the SD adapter that usualy comes with the Transflash cards and a card reader for your computer or a pocket PC.

No, my mistake.

My offer for assistance still stands if you want it.

Verizon makes it so that you have to pay them to do everything with your phone. That is why they disable OBject eXchange (OBX) via bluetooth.

Anyhow, if you want technical assistance I might be able to help.

@Blackzmage, I wasn't sure how prepared you where for putting ringtones on your psp.
You said you did not want ones where you can "send to your psp" so I just was going along with que about the specific files and wondering if you had the ability to transfer the files onto a ms to your phone.

The Samsung U740? No unfortunately not.

I have hacked the Motorola E815 and the HTC XV6800. I use the 6800 now. It is my pocket laptop so to speak.

I have not held the U740 but I know about the double hinge. It's a cool gimic if you ask me. If you can not load the ringtones via Transflash card you will need to use a USB cable and install them directly to your phone. Verizon is really good about neutering phones.

Anyhow do you have the USB cable that you will need to connect your phone to a PC?

If not here is a link from Amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/SCH-U420-SGH-D800 ... 101&sr=8-1

This program will help:

http://www.bitpim.org/

This one will have the windows drivers for your phone:

http://www.tian.cc/samsung_mobile_usb_4_40_7_0.zip

The Cable is like 2 bux on Amazon and as for the software it is all free if you follow the links.

Let me know if you have questions, I might be able to help more. Too bad you do not live down the street we could probably fix this in one afternoon.

I have a SD micro card for it and it works great...It has a section on it that says "my sounds" so i think i can use that as ringtones.

This is a link to the phone
