3.80 M33-5 Firmware problem - Corrupted Data files

Hey guys,

i've just spent a couple hours with DarkPacMan getting everything set up (big ups to you for your help brother), but i've hit a wall...

with PacMan's help i was able to get the 1.50 kernel add-on added along with my 3.80 M33-5 firmware, but i'm getting an error when trying to load anything from the "Game" "Memory Stick" menu. The files say "Corrupted Data"... can anyone help me?

Did you delete all the update files on your mem stick? and what are trying to play exactly? (ex: iso, cso, homebrew?)

Format your memory stick and you should be set with the folders.

1.50 homebrew apps have 2 folders right? One with a % and one without in the name. In Recovery Mode you can enable 'Hide Corrupted Icons' or something like that, so it hides the folder that appears corrupted in the memory stick.

Here's the problem. He needs to install the firmware 3.80 1.50 kernel add-on to his custom 3.80. He's downloaded it, placed it in the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder... but it's showing corrupt data when he's trying to run it.

Since today I'm less drunk than I was yesterday, I have a couple suggestions. Regarding installing the 1.50 kernel add-on, you should maybe try to put the files in THIS directory instead... "x:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/UPDATE" - thus making a second "UPDATE" folder and seeing if it will pop up. If that doesn't work, I'd try moving the UPDATE folders (both of them) to a "GAME150" (shouldn't work) and a "GAME380" folders. I think that didn't work the other day when we tried it, but also, we didn't try making a duplicate UPDATE folder to go inside the other one either.

Also, regarding many homebrew apps. You may have better luck downloading the 1.00 firmware builds (the ones that don't have a "% folder" like Daedalus%). You could probably put those in the GAME380 folder and have them work fine using the 3.80 kernel alone... but there are many programs that won't work that way as well.

i tried making the new "UPDATE" folders and tried them in every subfolder and what not and nothing seemed to change...

i've formatted my memory stick and started everything from there. i want to get my emus, roms, iso, everything working... but i keep getting the error message mentioned above by PacMan and the other files (like my 1.50 kernen add-on update) just say "Corrupted Data" and they will not work.

i've messed around with my settings but i don't think i need to hide my corrupted icons cuz those are the icons that i need to be able to use.

the corrupted icons that are hid aren't worth using, since they are only 'corrupted' and you can't execute one of those files.

do you have any thoughts on why they would be corrupted and why i'd be getting that error message?

i don't know if this makes a difference... but when i try to play homebrew games in the GAME or GAME380 folders i get an error message that says "The could not be started (8002014C)"

when i put it in GAME150 i get the normal error message, ""The could not be started (80020148)"

The top error code means that you need to run the homebrew in the Game150 folder lol.

Or in the GAME folder with the 1.50 kernel enabled.

i've tried all of that and i still have the corrupted data message...

i've tried switching back and forth between the 3.80 kernel and 1.50 and putting the game files and folders everywhere thereafter, but still i get the same error messages.

Just to double check that your puting everything in the right folders...follow the homebrew section of this tutorial...
http://pspbrew.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9454

Also, if you need help hiding extra corrupt icons use the SCE tags. For example...
i want to install a nesterj emulator with the sce tags. I will change their names to...
