Might be an error with the memory stick. Would reformatting the memory stick help? I wonder?

I know it may sound stupid, but have you tried a different USB hub? Or even rebooted your machine? If yes, have you tried another PC at home? Or go to your Device Manager on your PC and delete the icon with the yellow exclamation point and then proceed in scanning for new devices to hopefully the driver gets reloaded for this PSP?

I must admit this is a very weird issue.

Damn that was close with with deleting the that in the device manager. When I tried to connect the psp it said new hardware found, then bam unknown device I am not sure I have tried just about everything I could think of and what you have suggested and I thanks you for that. If any ideas just let me know thanks.

Hmm?? I think I found a workaround, but it's not so practical, see here to know what I mean: click here

The way I found it by entering this information in Google Search. Here is the results I got on Google search. I am sure if you click on each link found, you might find your answer (hopefully). Please do tell us what you had to do to fix this. It would be helpful to learn this if ever another forum member suffers from this same issue. Here is the link: click here for results of Google search

Wow that was a huge help I guess I could have done that huh haha! But anyway reading those helped me with my problem I did figure it out and it was simple. I have a 7 port usb hub and for some reason it only let the one psp connect off the hub. So I plugged the usb cord into the second slot of my computer where my wireless mouse was. Plugged my mouse into the usb and everythings works now its weird. Both my psp's connect and mouse works. But other issues I read about a guy went through this for months and it was just a usb cable that was the problem. So thats also something to try but I did get it to work and thank you for the help thats awsome thanks!!!! I will be on this forum alot more hoping to improve my psp's and help others thanks again! One more question if you can help. I dont want to buy winzip is there anything else out there for free that does the same, or am I stuck buying it? Thanks

No problem, glad to point you at least in the right direction. I have also encountered that issue with USB hubs. It's strange, can never be certain what is going wrong with them.

I dont want to but winzip is there anything else out there for free that does the same, or am I stuck buying it? Thanks

If you have Windows XP, you can unzip any winzip file.
  1. Just right click on the zipped file,
  2. select Open With,
  3. then select Compressed (zipped) Folders,
  4. then click on Extract all Files,
  5. then just follow the wizard that opens and you should be okay.
  6. also if you just double click on the winzipped file the wizard should open also or at least the first folder that opens when you must select Extract all Files.
