light_alistor, you are a heretic!

No, seriously, we will just have to wait and see. Whether or not global warming is a fact I think mankind is too powerless to do anything about it at this point and I think the powers at be know this or there would have been some acknowledgment of it sooner. The people in power do not have to worry because they have the money to pull through and they know they will not live long enough to see the worse part of it.

Which leaves the rest of us to fend for ourselves!

That is if the huge 2 mile thick state size chunks of ice falling into the ocean really is something to worry about.

polar bears

for the sake of not making this a useless post, I think I'll add some random text to confuse you into thinking that this post is not a pointless repeat of what I just posted before.

those were great videos...
i do not believe Global Warming is real, but yes we should take measures

i mean in 1950s-70 they said earth was going in a ice age, and in 1890s they said earth was getting global warming...
its the cycle of earth man
They are trying to enforce that carbon tax on us

Global Warming is a fact. And mostly caused by man and if you dissagree you are ignorant. Now do i think that if we didnt do it would it happen anyways?...

I guess i would have to say yes...but not nearly as fast or as bad. And i think it would eventually even back up by itself and balance out. But due to what humans cause the planet cannot naturally balance it out because we are putting off more than it can naturally handle.

I hope the guy on the video is correct but I guess we will all have to wait and see.

One think I find curious is that the sun goes through a 22 year cycle of getting hotter and brighter then cooler then dimmer and now this is the convenient reason to blame global warming on?

I know that studies of the icecaps melting have been done since at least the 80s when they found the hole in the ozone layer (I can't find the link not that anyone would follow it anyway it would probably get reposted IDK) and in those days supposedly that was when talk of global warming really started. The hole was supposed to let in more radiation and would eventually warm the earth enough to melt the icecaps by 2050 or something like that. Anyhow that was almost 30 years ago so I find it curious that it seems to be happening now (the ice caps melting that is... supposedly we can't nail down the reason) just as predicted. I think that there was evidence of warming in those days but they just blamed it on the ozone hole because they could not pin it on anything else at the time and I also remember talk of the hole whether or not humans had played a role in its creation either by polluting or by nuclear testing.

OH and one more thing, global warming or not, people DO affect their environment in positive and negative ways. I believe that you are only kidding yourself when you think that it does not and can not happen on a global scale.

Sure mankind has raised Earth's temperature in the last half of the 20th century, but by VERY little. I think that the primary factor, and the single most significant factor regarding global warming and even cooling, is that the Earth doesn't spin around the Sun in a perfect circular orbit. I'm surprised I don't see more information about that type of theory, as I've always thought this. It takes a long time to alter the path of the Earth around the Sun, but it does slowly over time, and century after century, I believe, Earth has had moments where its orbit has pulled it in closer to the sun, as well as different periods through time in which the Earth was shot out away from the sun (while still orbiting it, of course).

Therefor, global warming or cooling is only depicted by the state in which the Earth's placement is according to its distance from the sun during various natural orbital stages. The farther away, the cooler the surface temperature gets and the harder it is for Earth's electromagnetic field to retain heat and energy, and consequently causes the Earth to cool. During years in which the Earth is drawn back into the more powerful orbital patterns that bring it closer to the sun, Earth experiences periods of increased temperature - most noticeably, surface temperature.

That just seems like the only logical explanation to the true source of global warming, if you ask me.

I know this isn't the religion thread, but let me interject a thought here. I wrote above in colors for a reason. I emphasized orbital stages in two different colors. My personal belief, while possibly rare, is that the Bible was used as a way to teach young people how the world worked. I believe mankind knew of when the Earth would "change", and used the zodiac as a way to schedule the orbital differences between ages. Aquarius, the water-bearer, seems to keenly align with the year 2,150 or so, which would seem to be when much of the ice caps may theoretically melt. Now, I believe the Bible only represented the age of Pisces, but these two solid water-based analogies, Aquarius and the ice caps melting, tend to show possibility of correlation between one another if you allow yourself to think for a moment that Jesus Christ may have only been a story told to children in order to explain why the sun did mysterious things in late December. After all, it's already widely known that the Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks all had a vast knowledge about astrology. Keeping in mind how similar Horus is to Jesus Christ, by religious scripture, astrology only seems to cement the idea that ancient civilizations also used to used astrology to define what they saw around them in their day-to-day lives, perhaps through centuries.

I tried to explain both of my ideas to the best I could. Sorry if it lacks. I think que will get it though ;)

1890's, EARTH IS GETTING HOTTER OMG WE GANNA DIE.

1950's OMG THE EARTH IS GETTING ICE AGE LETS MELT THE ICE!!!!

2000's. NONONO WE NEED CARBON TAX!!!! TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING OMG!!!

i see a pattern...
The sun is WAYYY hotter and WAAAYYY brighter than ever, i mean people use your common sense
its all about making you accept the Carbon Tax

earthquakes even affect the temperature. that tsunami that hit the philipines awhile back knocked earth a few degrees off. THAT could have caused this warming period.

Yea, all the ash and stuff in the atmosphere, I heard that can cause and increase in temperature.
