Official Religion Debate Thread

I just want to add that I just got a visit from Jehovah's Witnesses. I did not think that they still went around door to door. They will be back next Sunday and they are bringing me a bible for a small donation. Is $5 fair?

He WILL sentence them to the Lake of Fire for an eternity in the end, but now they are just here I guess for a test against mankind, if you aren't worthy enough to STAY AWAY FROM EVIL (how easy is that?) then you shouldn't be in heaven.

You're still dodging a bullet from farquezy's gun. He asked why doesn't God just banish evil, and you say that he "WILL". I suppose the only obvious questions that arise from that answer are:

1. When?
2. Why?
3. Why don't you really know answers to either of those questions?

Well it's all apart of whats going to happen. He isn't going to banish evil before the end times, it's stated clearly in scripture. I know the answer because its all out there, that question is for someone that believes in a God but has no guidelines. You reeelly like to disprove Christians because you think you know all about how religion is BS but I guess that just blinds you from actually paying attention, and it makes you think you know all the answers.

How to send Jehovah's Witnesses running:

1. When they mention gods everlasting love you mention the bibles unloving support of slavery. When they try to muddle down the definition by saying we are all corporate slaves keep it "Roots" or "Prince of Egypt".

2. They will mention that god has a plan for everyone and the devil is messing it up for everybody. You state that we were never supposed to multiply on the earth and none of us would be here without the devils intervention. Use the book of Genesis and the 2 trees to support you view.

3. When they use the argument that Adam would see birds and bees doing it state: Do you think the fruit of knowledge is something you can hold or an expression substituted for sex intended to not offend anyone? Mention how Adam and Eve covered up and how god stated to eve that she would bear children in pain. Use examples like Joseph knew Mary and begot Jesus or whatever to support this interpretation.

If you believe God is false why do you spend so much time debating agaisnt Him? I mean somewhere in your heart you must know he's real right? My friend might belive in chocobos, which I'm sorry to say are not real : ( but im not going to waste my time telling him he's wrong. Well regardless what you belive during this time on Earth you will find out the truth. And well, I guess I should start praying that you find out before it's too late.

I spend so much time debating it the same reason christian spend so much time debating it, we both want to show people the "truth"

But the truth is that "who gives a f*ck" and that we should just live our lives and put this religious stuff behind us in my opinion

This religious debate is turning into an US vs THEM contest.

The non believers have expressed their beliefs and the believers are praying for their salvation.

I suppose there is nothing else to debate on this topic then.

ummmmm......... im gonna come out and say it....... i know how much ppl like ferquesy disagree with religion.... and say how much it hurts ppl but, they never mention how much it has helped ppl, and bettered live. I have a friend whos dad was and alcoholic and would abuse him..... after awhile he was arrested when neighbors reported him. After several years of AA hee found religion with Christianity... and he recently was reunited with my friend who finally has a dad again...... im not trying to change your beleifs on this subject but, i would like you to see that while religon has negative effects the good outweighs the bad

actually i have mentioned FEW times how religion helps people

but if i mention it helping, wouldnt i just be contradicting myself and hurting my own argument?
i'm supposed to make it look bad, not make it look good haha.

But you know, if you really look at it, in my opinion it hurts more than it helps.
