To shed a tiny bit more light on Mailas...
I really don't know why Mailas argued with me so much. I was the "new guy" that got a mod position before I even posted once. I think that angered a few people that felt that I didn't deserve it, and I think it's fair to say that .Yunoko even gave me quite a bit of grief as well - lots of people did. But, when Nik/ monkeymaximus found me on... I think psp-hacks at the time... I helped out all over the place, so I can't remember where he found me from, but anyways, when he found me, he contacted me on AIM and immediately asked me to be an administrator and I told him no. He pretty much begged me to take a mod spot over the tutorials section - "to fix it up". I knew if I would have taken an administrator position off the bat, it would have REALLY made some people mad... but I still caught a lot of crap just for being a moderator. I think I proved that I deserved the position though.
Mailas broke the rules fairly often. Also, any post that made him look bad or pointed out something that he did wrong, Mailas would just edit, delete, or move it to the "spam section" (a section of the forums only moderators and admins can see). I vouched to get rid of Mailas. I told the current admins at the time that I would leave if Mailas wasn't removed from moderator, and within about 2 hours he was removed and the subsequent "hissy-fit" from Mailas ensued.
Then, as time passed, and the old administrators looked for ones to take their place, D3vilsAdvocate and I were chosen. After I was admin, one of my first actions was to actually give Mailas his moderator power back to him! lol - sounds odd, but now I was his superior, so I could easily bring the hammer down if I needed to. Mailas was doing fine as moderator, but all of the sudden, one day, he resigned from his position. He helped train staxx and ace, so it wasn't a lost cause, but I'm not sure why he resigned. A few months later, he was trying to hack into the site, or somehow managed to get .Vault's admin password. Details are sketchy, but either way, Nik banned Mailas. I later went through and banned his whole IP-range.
...I bet Mailas still comes around though, to be honest...
