If I recall a website was launched a while ago powered by ads that offered free songs. It was legal too because they owned the copyright of the songs, paid with trough ad money. Not sure what ever came of it.

Yea I believe they are called royalty free websites you pay a one time fee then you can download as much as you want.

no you can get stuff at warez sites. theyre forums that have like rapidshare links and megaupload links. i perfer them to torrents, because you always get top speeds. i'm pretty sure you cant get caught on those.
