Gauge Wires - How can you tell the difference?

I recently got a 3-pack gauge wires, 24, 26, 30. I need to use the 26 but don't know which one it is. But I notice that they have a different thickness. I'm a noob at soldering, so my dad's doing it. Does sum1 know which would be the 26 gauge?

If you have a decent pair of wire cutters they usually have wire stripping blades separated by gauge. Local hardware supply might have something to measure gauge as well.

Just look at it. The one in the middle is the 26. But the higher the number, the smaller the wire. Once you get down to 26 it'll probably be a solid core, and not braided. I'd just look at it, but like brent said, you can use some wire cutters/strippers.
