Do you really know?
it could be filled with marshmallows for all anybody knows.(if it even exists)
And if you think for one second yourself that you should trust everything you think of and believe in, in one single person/Aura/being then who can you trust?
we cant even trust our fellow human beings much less ourselves.
so im sorry if i dont believe in something that i cant see and have no full, whole proof of.

If you are considering heaven against hell assuming that they both exist, there shouldn't be a shadow of a doubt that hell is hell and heaven is gewd

Yea i know, thats y i try to stay away from it cause i know im not ready to deal with it.
id rather just be friends with everyone and not judge by religion.
especially since most religious arguments end up in bloodshed.

You poor deluded people.

Religion, especially Christianity is a sham. The existence of Jesus can be disproven using the old testament of any bible and the historical record. Once you realize that the new testament is a sham then Jesus and the devil Satan are also relegated to myth but people have been conditioned to believe in a figure that is no more real than Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny, both of Whom also have dogmatic origins.

Preiests,Reverends,Popes have been using the bible for millenia to control populations and maintain a grip on power.

The closest Christians will ever get to rapture is if they are at ground zero of a nuclear blast when they will get raised up into the atmosphere as millions of tiny atomic particles never to be seen on this earth again.

I don't believe anyone is deluded on this thread.
i just think everyone had there own way of looking at something and choosing the most logical way to deal with it in their own eyes.

i go to catholic church every Saturday and i have not once heard any priest say anything like (angry preacher voice), "The righteous shall ascend into heaven but the godless heathens shall be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity." Usually thats the protastints that say things like that honestly... i remember hearing a sermon saying that anyone who is a good person will go to heaven... so in you face! catholics aren't the evil ones :D The main thing catholics are bad about is the inability to change every time i go to church its the same thing i heard last year... most boring thing ever :(

I never heard it when I went to church. I only hear that stuff from people saying that people say it to them. And the Westboro people - except they believe they are the only ones going to heaven, everyone else is going to hell.

Well maybe not everyone, just the Christians have been misleaded or fail to use judgment. I will explain in a moment.

I think that most people choose Christianity because it is what the people next door believe in.

Don't get me wrong religion can be a good thing and some people need it. All I am trying to say is that people really should question what it is that they are asked to believe in and not be afraid to go against the status quo.

I also believe that people are completely in error when they pick and choose what parts of they bible they follow. It should be all or nothing. If god never intended modern man to follow his ancient rules then I think all of the bronze and early iron age concepts in the bible should be tossed out. I mean why do people still read the King James version of the bible when it is known now in 2008 that this is not a very accurate translation from the original Greek and Roman scriptures?

Check this:

New Testament:
John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son (singular), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Old Testament:

Genesis 6:2
"that the SONS (plural!)of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
Genesis 6:4
"The (C)Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the SONS (plural again!) of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

My question to whomever can answer it is:

If in the beginning god had multiple sons why is Jesus in the new testament described as the so called "only begotten son"?

If you ignore this fact then you are picking and choosing what you like and what you don't. Every Christian and Catholic must confront this question at some point and there is really only one conclusion...

The author of The New Testament did not do his homework when he started a new "UNAUTHORIZED" gospel. There is no other logical explanation for this. If there is I am very interested to learn of it.

If you accept this then you have to realize that the bible is imperfect and therefore not really gods true word.

Sorry to be so blunt about it but someone has to break it to you.

Before I say this, PLEASE DON"T START ANYTHING PERSONAL, I don't want an argument here

How blind do you ave to be not to understand the metaphorical meaning of what was being said, hat you just siad we soooo false and blasphemous that it gives me goosebumps, that has got to be the most mislead thing that I have ever heard in regards to religion.

I'm not gonna go on a rant here I have a whole page and a half to rant on about this but hopefully what I'm about to say will end it all here short and sweet with no intense arguing:

When they say begotten they mean fathered, common sense, thefreedictionary.com, that is gods son that HE FATHERED.
When they say "sons" as a plural they do not mean fathered or begotten, what they mean is since god created all the peeps on the world he is metaphorically they're father.

HOW DARE YOU even jump to such incorrect and insulting talk against the biblical writing when you don't even have the understanding as to the metaphorical messages that are inside the bible. 99% of everything written in the bible has a metaphorical meaning as opposed to having a tangible readable writing

que13x wrote:but someone has to break it to you.

You have no valid point to make and what you said is outrageous and insane. You have no evidence or any valid proff that you've presented and that just makes me sick that you have the nerve to quote the bible and make an insulting and incorrect inference that doesn't make sense to you becuase you choose to read the bible in the wrong way to make an incorrect point.

The words in the bible are written for ppl as the word of GOD because and it has no flaws unless someone like you chooses to misinterpret it and disrespect the point of biblical writing.

I'm not defending christianity in this but i am saying that what is in the bible is not incorrect and is legit, there are no loopholez.

Well it looks like i did go on a rant after all, I think I may have written t00 much for this situation but I don't care now it just makes me sick that you just did that.

When it says SONS it means us, we are the children of God. Duh!
He created us all so He is the 'Father'. The King James version isn't hard for me to understand at all, once you get into it and start deciphering the meaning, it is so simple. I admit you can't understand it easily off the bat, but it's pretty simple to me.

I was trying not to post in this thread but what que said just didn't make sense. I'm going to have to agree with the 2 previous posts, sons means us and son means Jesus. We are his "children" but Jesus is his only actual begotten son, referring to the Mary situation. You can't understand the bible if you misinterpret it so easily :p

It's not the religion that causes wars, it's the men who use religion as a means to control people that do.
