I did this stuff a couple of weeks ago....before the update hit.

You need to get the twilight hack. It's on Wiibrew.com and part of the pack generator. You need to get this and the install for the homebrew channel.

1. first format the SD card in Fat 16(using a PC)
2. copy the twilght hack save and the install for the homebrew channel onto the card
3. put the card in the wii
4. go to the Wii's Data area and copy the Twilight hack into the saves area.(do not take the card out)
5. load up twilight princess...walk a few steps forward and talk to the guy to engage the hack

yay...now you have the homebrew channel! Now that it is installed it'll work even if you update...well for emulators at least. You may want to go back to your pc and get the apps you want onto the SD card....

The Wii packgen is mostly maintained by me, but since I have gotten my new job I have no time to update it at home and at work I have a strict web filter working against me (That and IT monitors traffic).

As far as a nonworking emulator, I would head over to wiibrew.org and make sure you have the latest version of the emulator.

Make sure you do not update your Wii through Nintendo's update, it breaks some homebrew functionality. Keep it at 3.3x (x being your region) or idealy at 3.2x

The Homebrew channel itself has been updated to beta 9, so if you do update that channel, or have installed the newer version from the get-go, then make sure any homebrew you download is in dol format (i.e. boot.dol file name). If it is an elf, the homebrew channel will not load it since they did not have time to add elf functionality with the new Wii update. If it is an elf and a newer dol has not been released, then you can download a simple elf to dol converter at wiibrew.org as well.

I recommend checking this guide out http://www.brewology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13653. Some of the information may be a little outdated, but most of it still applies.
