I don't think it is so much where you live but more what you say. I know what you meant with those comments and you were out of line.
Calling people "Yankee" pretty much seals the deal that you are southern. That is not a sin in itself but proudly stating that the president better not go to the "deep and dirty south" is just plain ignorant and conceals a threat in the language.
The south lost 143 years ago. When the war ended there weren't supposed to be northern states or southern states only
united states, that was the point of the war. Let go of the negativity that should have died with our ancestors that actually fought and died in the civil war it is one of many things holding us back as a nation.
If you do nothing to stop the hate then you condone it if you condone it then you accept it.
To give you some background on myslef, I have always lived in the south cept when I lived out west in Texas. I grew up in Virginia and lived as close as 50 miles from North Carolina. Now I live in northern Florida.
Yea I'm a southerner too, so I know the attitude when I see it.
It's a pitty that some don't.
The programmers you will one day be looking to hire are the ones reading the tech news sites right now.
