Brand new to hacking and highly confused please help!

OK so i have almost no idea on what I need to do to my psp to play older games useing eboot.
I have downloaded a brewpack and did what it told me to do but i cannot get it to work and I don't know what is going on
please help
open for ideas and questions and will do the best that i can with your instructions if you will help

What kind of PSP do you have and what firmware do you have?

I have 2000 and I think it is 5.02 but I have done a little more reading since last night and i know i need a custom firmware but i don't know which one or what to do with it when i get it.

You'll need to turn your battery into a pandoras battery via hard modding it. We have a tutorial for hardmodding the phat battery but not the slim, so you'll have to google for that one.

Aside from that, you'll need to create a "magic memory stick" to over ride your psp's ipl (initial program load) so that you may install custom firmware. There are some easy installers floating around the web for that as well.

For the choice of custom firmware, i recommend 5.00 m33-4
