And yes, downloading certain material is against the law if you don't own the property physically or paid properly for the electronic version.
Uploading stuff like that IS NOT!!!! against the law.
Let's say you and your friend both own "Backyard Chickens 2: Revenge of the Ravage Racoon" on DVD, you both bought the DVD's from Wal-Mart or whatever, you both would be allowed 1 copy of the movie electronically if something where to happen to your physical DVD such as it getting scratched up by your XBox or getting ran over by a crazy old lady.
If your friend's gets stolen, he still is entitled to an electronic copy of the movie, but listen to this: Let's say he doesn't have a DVD drive on his computer. Let's say he has a Mac Book Air. He couldn't have possibly made an electronic version from his original DVD, so he can legally download a copy of it. (Same thing with GBA games and such.)
You could legally upload a copy of your video online so that he can download his copy which he is legally entitled to, which he legally purchased.
Nothing fraudulent about it.

Actually copying any DVD to your computer, whether you own it or not is 9 times out of 10 illegal, because you are breaking the encryption to copy it. The encryption is there to legally prevent you from ripping it. When you break the encryption, it becomes illegal to have a digital copy. Thats why they are now including digital copies of movies when you purchase DVD's now.

But you can only run the digital copies through itunes or WMP. So its pretty gay. You can't change the video whatsoever to a different format or a different size ratio. Well there is a way to take away the DRM (The protection) from the file you just have to legally have the rights to play and you can rip them of.

Then when its been 3 months id get internet service from a DIFFERENT company and only download from ware sites.

also id do it SOON. cause they might just be waiting to get a warrant or something. these guys dont fool around they will take your computer, psp, xbox, mp3 players, everything.
but they said its only a warning..
QUIT SCARING ME!!
i wont download for like 3 months...

Doesn't matter his computer is still the source of the leak therefore he (or whoever has the contract with the isp theyve signed up with) is held responsible for any illegal activity trafficing to and from the computer.

My suggestion if you're going to upload anything in the future is to rename the file before doing so. Hows "Fluffy's Fluffy Falls Off" sound to you  If you look at downloads the files have usually been renamed as well more so put in short form such as Devil May Cry would be renamed to DMCpart1.zip when you're downloading it. Helps keep it under the radar as well as partitioning it into several different files sized at 100mb helps keep it under the radar.

Don't put a code on your router. If you do then you won't have an alibi if you are taken in to court. If your network is secure you can't play dumb and say "someone must have hacked my isht.

If you don't confess to anything they have to prove it was you. The only way that they can do this is if they catch you sitting in front of the computer.

Deney deney deney.

The burden of proof is on them.

You already stated it wasn't you so why are you even concerned about this?

Well you could always prove WEP can be cracked within minutes if your lucky. Which, it can be quite easily hacked.
