The official beta had a limited number of downloads... forget the exact number, so it's very possible that they've run out.

No, They extended the number of beta's till like the 24th of Jan. So until that day you can get a beta.

I was reading comments from users on lifehacker. I guess a lot of people have had issues downloading on firefox. Using IE allowed them to download no problem.

yeah, but a lot of people would probably prefer to get it from the source instead of torrents which carries risks.

My girlfriend's uncle did on his computer.
He says he likes it a lot more than Vista though it's just a beta.
He said it comes with a few little neat things that Vista never had and he said it overall was a lot more stable.
He said it was a lot more comfortable using 7. I really want to get it but I have no clue when my new computer will be getting here!
I thought it was at most going to be here by yesterday.

I've been reading a lot of stuff on windows 7. apparently MS has actually done something right. It's supposed to be a great OS. A lot of people are saying MS should offer it for free to vista users, since it's pretty much what vista SHOULD have been. With 64 bit processing it boasts faster load times than vista and xp. They've tweaked stuff to bring the best of both worlds between OSX and MS. I think this will finally put more of a dent in the number of XP users.

Yeah, a lot of people are saying that 7 should phase out Vista for free.
