The IR port was used for ad-hoc mode to share games with a friend and play with them. I wouldnt expect any of you to know that though seeing as how you guys dont have any friends just kidding.

No, you used WiFi for game shaing, just like now.
The IR port did nothing but if Sony was smart, they would have used it for service/debug menus.
It would have been sooo smart. They could have it so if you're under Video Settings under Settings, it turns on the IR port for receiving stuff and they could beam the PSP some message saying, "Hey, go into debug mode."

Nah, IRShell was great, it's just that it had so many features that the PSP easily didn't have enough buttons. You can configure your own combinations of buttons for advanced features though, and the perks the program gives are great. I don't use it anymore because I don't use the same TV anymore so I don't need the remote lol - but I love that program and I especially liked talking with Ahman and making suggestions to him through his old forum. He's a really nice guy.
