Are you saying Vista doesn't like external drives? If so, and if you're talking about hard drives externally, my Vista x64 bit Ultimate has always done goofy things with my EHDD. Normally, my computer would boot into Vista at about 15-20 seconds. But if I have the external hooked up it takes about a minute and 10 seconds.

If it is plugged in after the computer has booted Vista, the autoplay is late to catch the drive by the same amount of time. Odd....

No I was talking about you can't install W7RC onto an external hard drive.

LOL I quoted Ace because I was asking what his problem was with "externals".

By the way, the mods/ hacks to get "DirectX 10 on XP are still pretty far removed from being DX10. I've tested many games and the real DX10 beats the "XPDX10" any day. The XPDX10 does tend to use slightly less resources though, but I have 8gb of OCZ Fatal1ty Edition Championship Gaming RAM... and I plan to use it ;)

haha, just making sure. I knew yunoko was conceded but dang. j/k
Yea imo, XPDC10 is garbage compared to the real thing, especially if you got the resources to back it up! But yea I have ran into a rather weird problem with windows 7, it seems to not recognize my surround sound O.o

I did however dig this up for Yunoko the Conceded one:

I'm guessing a usb flash drive = usb ehdd, so yea should work ^_^

Yeah the reason I'm still with Vista for the time being is because I'm not certain if my entire computer would be supported if I migrated. For instance, my sound card is a Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Edition sound card, and I'm not sure if the drivers would work properly yet or not. I just gotta do a little research beforehand but I'm thinking I'll be using Win7 before long.

Well I haven't even installed a single driver since I installed win7, but I did check device manager and the only thing with a yellow exclamation point was the raid controller which i don't use raid yet. But my sound is just the on board sound, although it is weird that it will detect my headset but won't detect my surround sound as speakers.

Use Driver magician.. It automatically detects your attached devices, and finds the drivers for them.

Why would I want to use some 3rd party app to download drivers I already have?

I thought you needed to go through the painstaking process of looking them up, I didn't know you already had them...

I actually really really like it and enjoy it, I love Vista the way it is, but W7rc does really look great, feel great and usually my computer uses like 1.8GB of ram, its only using 590MB right now!

I really like all the features, especially the ease of checking which back grounds u want to use, and then it shuffles them in different time intervals. Cool stuff. I did see another article on overclock.net about removing the watermark, which would make w7rc even better!
