PS3's sold terribly because of how expensive they were, everyone that couldnt afford one got an xbox 360 and morphed into a (Can you guess it?) FANBOY, so even if they drop the price now, everyone is loving xbox right now.

True but with this price drop and how great the economy is. I have already had a couple dozen friends say they are going to get a PS3 and sell there 360's just because they wanted the PS3 but couldn't afford it.

Tbh It works Like this Profit wise Wii>Xbox>Ps3
Atm wii is in the lead by a few Billion, Ps3 makes a loss so you can only count their game sells as a profit tbh.

I think only Nintendo makes a profit on each console sold this Gen so far. Microsoft might make one but I haven't heard anything, but they might.

And @ PS3 selling terribly - The PS3 and 360 have pretty much sold the same amount of hardware in each of their beginning years. http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php

So I guess the 360 is selling terribly too .
It's not too late either, $300 is a lot more affordable for people to buy while having another system as well.
As long as good exclusives come out on the PS3 it will still sell.

Microsoft used to lose money on the Xbox production, but by now, I'm sure they've put in place a means to which a profit is made, especially after the technology they are using is getting pretty old.

Oh, and idk why im bringing this up, but who talks about your Xbox at school? Doesnt it sound nerdy saying "Yea, tonight il be on my xbox"? Or "That game will be so cool on my xbox".

I always hear people on the football team talk about their 360's.
Sounds pretty manly to me but hey, we're always naked in the shower and I wear dresses. I'm not sure I'd be a good person to listen to when it comes to saying something is manly or not.

You guys are looking past this too much. This won't be appealing to people that currently have a PS3, but for people that have waited out, they might be very interested in something like this. Most people buy the system to have "the system" - not to do hacks/ mods - and I think that this will appeal much more than the bulky version, although, I must say, Sony has always been ridiculous on their pricing in the past and I just don't know what they're doing sometimes lol.
