PS3 vs. 360 vs. Wii

I honestly think that HALO kept the first Xbox going.

The newest 360 mobo I know of is called a Jasper. It has a smaller chip and power supply and thus runs on less juice and stays cooler longer.

Another point for the PS3 would be that you can leave it turned on without fear of it never working again... as in, you can have the PS3 fold proteins with Folding at Home and leave it on 24-7 (there are entire workshops that do this) and fold proteins for scientific research (or do other scientific calculations). You can even listen to music while it's going.

I have yet to see any of them perform as a solid "PC", so I don't like any. To be honest, remember back before the PS2 was coming out and there were press conferences about how the PS2 will be the computer of the future that integrates all of your media in one place and connects you to the internet... etc.

Well that was bs. I want a game system that I can "dual boot" so that I can choose to load the game system's menu for loading games or I can choose to load Windows to play PC stuff without any restrictions and sadly what I want may ONLY come from Microsoft... but it's just that I have a very powerful computer and NO GAME from ANY console has even "decent" graphics when compared to a 4890 graphics card with 1gb of GDDR5 memory.

HA! Go ahead and do that then feel the back of the thing. It gets hotter than a hair dryer, that can't be good! Also PS3 might not have the 3rrod issue but I know plenty of people with dead blue-ray drives.

From day one of the PS1 then PS2 and now PS3 the systems have had problems with their lasers. Who cares if it boots up if it can't read any disks!

$ony still hasn't figured out (or doesn't care) that the most important part of a modern gaming system is it's ability to read media.

I definitely agree with dpm on the subject about dual booting windows & whatever "game menu". Now that would be sick, being able to play both pc games and xbox games. Either that or make a cross platform xbox live for pc, like I could play modern warfare on my pc with my buddies playing it on their 360s.

I didnt mean for the ps3 Halo combat evolved was going to be a multi plat title, but was made exclusive and if it wasnt for that halo 3 may have been on the ps3 besides which i meant this jokingly.

For microsofts 2nd console, a next gen console at that. they are doing Friggin good.

seeing as the fail rate was upto 40 percent, id say not. look at MS's OS's. ONE good one. ONE. every other one had sevice packs and redos cuz it was TERRIBLE. id say on dependability, mac is better. how often will i support a mac over anything?

and the 360 has twin fans standard and that doesnt work? thats wrong!!!!ps3 has one and it stays cooler. no massive power brick either.

if MS had more experience with stuff that WORKED then i probably wouldnt be arguing, cuz the 360 wouldnt suck as much.

Sometimes on the PC you can tell people are using game controllers because they move REALLY slow while aiming down the site and with certain weapon setups you almost always lose to these people who creep using the controller... but... come to think of it... that's about the ONLY advantage they have. They still "can't aim" compared to the precision of a mouse.

The Wii has alot over the two consoles, if it wasn't hackable in this way it would have a huge alot more, Im going on just console sells and Wii is the clean winner, going on addons Microsoft is,
Consoles sold:
1st Wii
2nd Xbox
3rd Ps3

with addons and such (total cash + console revenue, Xbox wins because of the fact u have to play to go online)
Xbox is first for obvious reasons
ps3 second
wii last

The only reason the wii is at a disadvantage to the other consoles is the capability it has, its half of what thee xbox is, If the Wii was HD you would see a change on the 2nd, also nintendo Ds got over the 100m mark not too long ago, wii has beat the 60m i believe. it was 55m 3 months ago so wouldnt be supprised.
i dont think xbox has even reached 40m or even 30...
The wii has a advantage over xbox which is the Controlers, Xbox will get the advantage if there "what ever its called" Natel thats it, works successfully, i believe it shall not as there are i believe alot of things that could go wrong.

i think im also right in saying that microsoft owns the right of blue ray, so every time sony make a console they owe microsoft money, another failure.
Nintendo's next console which ive heard romours is called the Wii 2/Wii HD to no supprise will win if it has HD a improved controller system, and is not easily hackable or gets the type of bans Xbox does.
Ps3 is a good system and i like it but they arn't going to win with free internet, you also forget microsoft are using some of the money you pay each month to play games to keep servers running, update and keep connectivity, are Sony doing this?

Nintendo is niether poor and it gets alot of decent things tbh,
Dsi has sold over 100m wii is following suit slowly but surely, i dont see pokemon on other consoles or Super smash bros.
or any other nintendo made game,
and we still have Zelda, all nintendo has lost is final fantasy if we didnt it would be great.

Just looked at craits post after this and i disagree there are good games, its just so damn hard to find them and no one wants to pay £40 to go "aww rubbish this games rubbish"
for one massive example wii play is a pile of ...
SSBB is amazing, Conduit is actualy good its the one game ive actualy found to be a challenge on single player,
Zelda is pritty damn good, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: yes it was made for DS but blimmen hell its fun for wii too.
just because there arnt any of the mainstream Xbox games, and we are behind doesn't nessasaraly mean its got rubbish games,
and crait your not taking into fact some of the newer better games use up alot of resources hence why the manufacters arnt wasting their time making 'Downgrading' them for the console.

The wii's United Kingdom price is and has always been £179-180
it may have dropped for other countries but i do not live there to know.
Ps3 and xbox price has repeatedly been going down, im going on UK price ok UK.

Just so im fully understood Wii wins in Consoles sold.

Xbox wins consoles + additional features + controllers + the fact you have to pay for the internet is a big provider of cash.

do NOT get "uppity" with me alex. cool it. im not bashing the wii, i LOVE nintendo, N64 was a classic. i still play it. but you know DAMN well the wii isnt best seller. its the same price as when it was sold. 250 bucks. i have seen no price drops. ps3 is WAY better and 50 bucks more, so wii lost there. the 360 arcade is 200, wii loses there too. it is, however, a FANTASTIC family console the ps3 and 360 could NEVER hope to obtain (360 is trying, but it aint gonna be as good). i have never had more fun playing a game with my dad then wii sports, except with Battlefront 1 for PS2.

the wii is a perfect little kids system, for it appeals to them more. i , tbh, find it almost deathly boring. Mine is hacked and i still have no fun with it.
