so has anyone been sent that spam "PSN will cost money on Jan 10th, send this to everyone you know. if you send it to 15 people, you get it free thanks PSN"?

cuz its a backloader full of BS. sony makes lots of money and isnt gay like MS so it will NEVER cost money. in theory. anyways, its fake

That's why the PS3 does not have a Wi-Fi addon.

Yeah I've gotten this a couple of times.
I've also read an article that I think Sony was going to offer a "premium" PSN service sometime.
You will still have the traditional free online PSN that you have now, but a premium service is going to be implemented.
Possibly inside looks to new games with betas, a subscription to Qore, limited movie/tv show renting, or some other random things.

And maybe some kind of discount on downloads.

But, I don't see that coming for a long time. I remember about in July there was a guy at GameStop trying to get a lady to buy a 360 because online for the PS3 was going to start costing even more than the 360. It hasn't happened.
