Split screen? yes. HDD? most xbox's do (standard). Upgradeable HDD? most Ps3's, old and new. standard 2.5in too. Web Browsing? ps3 Backwards Compatible....? Xbox is with a hard drive, old PS3's, and new ones need to dl to the HDD. lame.

Portable systems? PS3. Media center reader? Yes, both. Multiple versions of the system to improve it? PS3 many. xbox has SOME, not all helpful.

price? same same. 300 bucks. colors? xbox only. fail rate? 360 high, ps3 low. warranty? good on ps3, better on xbox.

The Slimmer PS3 uses less than half of the energy the older one used, is nearly silent, and there are some other things that is upgraded in in like the new, smaller CPU. Other than that, all the specs are the same so it's just smaller. They didn't get rid of anything.
They probably released the new PS3's so that they'll support software-based PS2 emulation in the future.

And who cares about the Web Browser? Well, for one, you can watch YouTube on your flatscreen in HD. That's pretty nice. I'd rather have that than cross-videogame voice chat.

you can get a web browser thru MCE in the 360. so we have it to, lol not as good tho but still have it

now once PS2 is playable again will be headed to Gamestop to pick up a PS3

ok so the reason i made this thread was because i do not like wen ppl keep saying one console is better than the other. like well PS3 looks better than 360, or 360 has better online that PS3. Now the pics i posted was to be like "hey see, they both look great pick wich one you like better". and crait pointed this out

The right side. But that's just using my small computer screen looking at a shrunken version of each. I automatically knew that the right side was the 360.


Here's another one. You can tell which is each console by the P and X. The point of this is that each game studio is different. Some studios have more people on a team for a console than the other console.
Plus, these pictures do not show how smoothly the pictures move. Have you played burnout on the PSP? While you're playing the graphics look nice but if you ever see a screenshot, it looks very, very choppy.

I disagree with your statement. First off, you don't need both consoles($ony & M$) as it seems 90% of new releases come out for 360 and PS3 at the same time.

The hardware may be different but the code is virtually the same. It is the compiler that makes it so that the console understands the code. There may be some console specific tweaks in the code but nothing major.

As for the graphics anomalies...

I have followed these comparisons for a few years now and it seems $ony always looses in the graphics department. Sorry P$3 fans but the truth is the truth.

You can't judge screen shots to compare games on to different consoles. Because the devs have to develop the game differently for each console because each one has its ups and downs. That is why exclusives like say Uncharted 2 look so dam amazing.
