Sweet another PS3 exclusive gone.

Metal Gear is now no longer a Playstation exclusive. YAY loved the series now I get achievements for it =)

Metal Gear Solid: Rising Destined For Xbox 360, PS3, PC



Hideo Kojima sneaked onto stage at Microsoft's E3 2009 press briefing today to let the world know that the Metal Gear Solid series was coming to the Xbox 360. That new game is definitely multi-platform.

Since Microsoft didn't make mention of Metal Gear Solid: Rising being exclusive to its console, we had a pretty good indication. Even better is the Gamespress information for the newest, Raiden-starring Metal Gear Solid, which is listed for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The release date is still TBA.

We'll know more about the multiplatform status of Metal Gear Solid: Rising tomorrow, when Kojima's almost assured to sneak up on Jack Tretton, tap him on the shoulder and, hopefully, debut the game's first trailer—then ask us if we liked it.

Actually its not like that at all.

Microsoft isnt complaining about what Sony has and then just gets it, the game company that made this game decided to go with a more popular (in sales figures I am talking about here) system. This is a valid move for the game company and a start of a new relationship between developer and console maker. A + for both if you will.

Now, If the PS3 magically skyrockets in sales this year I expect some of the exclusives for the 360 will go to Ps3. Then you run into console loyalty and above all Microsoft paying to keep an agreement on exclusivity.

One game I do not see going though is the Halo series. Microsoft owns the rights to this game and leases it to Bungie so Microsoft would have to give the go for them to release it to Sony's PS3. Why give up their star game? Its almost as saying you bought a Sega to play Mario games years ago.

Sony- Doesnt really have one :/ (Used to be able to say Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and this game)
Sega- Sonic. Now, The only reason you see Sonic games on other consoles is because of Sega not making a console anymore. If, and only if, they make a comeback (which I read an article a few months back about them possibly doing this ) you wont see new sonic games on the 360, PS3, and possibly not even Nintendo.

Those are very good games but, to me, they are NOWHERE near Mario, Halo, Sonic, and for that matter, Pokemon caliber.

i could do without another kid shooter on ps3 lol i'd rather they made a ps3 version of Timesplitters but it is getting rather upsetting with all these old PS exclusives going else where for instance GTA now with loads of sh!t for the 360 and us poor PS owners are feeling left out we built that damn franchise up. even Final Fantasy is out for xbox as well

I mean lara Fcuking CROFT the little fcuking console Wh*re, the days/weeks/months i used to spend mastering that lovely handstand camera angle to see her clunge or even the brave swan dive into bricks or spikes when you found there was no way to see Naked Lara lol

I suppose we got Ratchet and oh wait i just remembered God of War wooohooo there is still hope..
it makes me sad that the must have to dumb down a game to play fine on the 360 and squeeeze it so hard to fit on a HD DVD

I respected your post till you provided wrong information. Xbox 360 doesnt use Hd DVD. Then, they dont "dumb down" the game to play on it. The only game that uses most of the potential of the Play station 3 console is sony made. Besides that, xbox 360 and PS3 games are on par and if not EASIER to produce on 360 then PS3 because of the computer like CPU in the 360 compared to the (il admit) amazing Cell cores in the PS3.

yeah ok i agree but i totally thought 360's was HD DVD and the comment of "dumbing down" was more swayed to the concept f having our loving ps3 exclusives non exclusive.. i mean if you own a ps3 and play one of our exclusives you'll see jaw dropping detail and get that loving warm feeling you get when holding baby kittens lol

but side by side you'll notice no difference at all and it sucks i mean you can buy a 360 for like £120 (dont know $$$ conversion) or spend £300 for a PS3 and play the same games that look exactly the same side by side..

i'm still glad i have a PS3 tho and not joined the Darkside by buying a 360.

one can only dream that one day maybe one day we'll have cross platform gaming you fat yank kids on the 360 and us ps3 snobs fighting side by side playing the same game lol
