Why is this so far down the forum? T___T

You boys fighting again? But actually, imo, the forum hasn't been doing great lately. Maybe some of us just like to be oblivious as to what is going on, and pretend everything is dandy; however, the forum itself is slowly diminishing.

the newest member we have that really participates (more than most you senior members) is DCM, seriously


weve lost.... so many already. toxxy. theres a prime example. he was sick of some crap earlier last month and his computer sucks, but i know people who stay 5 mins and forget the site.

if we can get something hot on the GO or ps3 scene or something revolutionary, then we have life once more. the sad thing is, we dont. most of us know little to nothing (exceptions are crait and DPM that i know of, speak up if you know stuf like them) about coding ANYTHING. i can barely do HTML and visual basic. i know little more then the pandora method and the chickhen method. im not smart enough! and for that, we are dying. without the true understanding of what we do and how it happens, we cant do anything noticable.

The thing is.. it's a general Gaming site now, and it should be looked at as such.. If the packgens aren't going to work anymore.. In my opinion remove them completely.. no-one uses them.

There's a lot of stuff that we just no longer need.

Yes, I hope you hold me accountable. We're working on things almost daily now. The site is being remade and our databases are being ported over. That isn't what is holding us back though. Graphical user interface as well as custom coding (needed for our features, i.e. downloads) needs to be redone and done in a more efficient and secure manner. There is a version of the site that exists right now in which you can login and what-not but it's pretty far from releasing into a beta stage. Monkeymaximus has been working since he got back from Vietnam on the features we plan to port over.

@ Puncharger ~ Yes, I agree with certain features being removed. That's absolutely correct, and we plan to remove some. The game saves will be taken down and unless we improve upon what we have already, we may or may not bring them back. The Brew Packs will most likely be taken down, yet may reappear when we have a more sufficient way of updating them - hopefully automatically via RSS so that they're easier to keep up-to-date.

Later on, we're going to have skins for the forum that users can choose to use, such as blue, red, green and so on, and I'm really hoping we'll also add seasonal defaults like a Christmas theme, Halloween theme etc. If our configuration allows, we'll also look into the possibility of adding an arcade where the highest scores from the forum will be accessed - possibly even earning a reward like a custom title if you currently hold the record in 'X' game.

I have a vision for this site, as do the rest of the staff, and we're going to provide a more enjoyable experience. My goal is to never compete with another site. I don't want to ever be compared to other forums. Most forums do not share the same goal that I share. My only goal is to provide support for those that need it and to provide that support in a fast and responsive manner - to help everyone. We, so far, have held true to that legacy and as our community here continues to grow, there's only better things on the horizon for the website. Doing these updates may take some time, but monkeymaximus has told me of his goal to have everything switched over, and it's not too far away at all. I'm finding it hard to believe that we'll be able to do it as fast as he thinks we can, but a workable version of the site WILL BE FINISHED within the next 3 weeks, I'm just not sure if we'll be wanting to throw it on live right then and there or not, since we should take some time for testing as well.

Yeah, you're seeing very little change because we haven't changed anything aside from purposely breaking site features for the better of the site's security. I've personally navigated the network pages once mirrored, but it's a LITTLE bit harder than just porting and praying. It doesn't help that monkeymaximus has been doing some travels lately either.
