Money Management

Does anyone know of a free (or not. I dont really care since i can still get it) money management software where I can input my own money (instead of bank accounts) and specify what goes where?

Primarily what I want is to have 3 categories-

Savings
Spending
Laptop

and be able to input say $100 and say 20% goes to savings, 40% goes to spending, and 40% goes to laptop and it splits it for me.

Anybody got a good one? Thanks :)

I use a calculator. :) Or just make a quick excel sheet, if you only got like 3 fields and the only calculations involved is like percentages then that will take like 2 seconds. Or make a quick VB program for it.

It takes like 2 seconds to do it on your calculator.

I use my bank account like the rest of the world for my savings,
and I use whatever I find in my wallet/credit card for spending.

For my alienware m17x, I used my savings to buy it.

No calculator even needed (all though a 5 year old can figure it out =/)

I use Excel, it is very clean and easy to cycle through if you set it up right.

To be honest I don't carry any cash. Yea I know dpm and his government conspiracies will hate me, but I prefer to just deposit all of my money, buy stuff with credit and then pay it off. Always good to start trying to get a good credit score now then wait when your trying to pay off student loans. That and if you ever get robbed, give the fella your card, let him run away, then call and cancel it. I use my savings account, well for savings and checking account for purchases though, I guess Canada doesn't have checking and savings accounts O.o

But about the original topic, excel is really your best choice if it's that simple. You can put in your balance or what not, and it will automagically update the fields without any problem.

I carry cash, I've seen my government from the inside, and I'm smart enough not to trust the banks.
