Bordering on insanity!

K now i tried borders and could get the 3px and 4px borders down real nice but now i wanna know how port (and a few others) have that borders in their sig different from a normal border.

K here you see that i got the 4 px border and only white in between the black borders. This i do using the stroke option.

Here i see that port's got a 3 px border BUT in between the two black borders i see the original sig content. (dont tell me the borders are manually drawn :shock:)
This sig content inside the borders is of a diffferent color from the actual sig content color. How is that effect made?
Also, i tried with stroke but i cant get the middle border as transparent.

Would really appreciate some help. Thanks... :)

oh ok i got it, i used to CTRL-A, stroke 3px black, stroke 2px white, stroke 1 px black.
But i still dont get the color change inside port's border! :?
