Xbox 360 XCM case

This weekend my friend came over with his Xbox 360 and one of those new XCM 360 cases that just came out. There isnt a single damn screw aside from those that pass throuh the sheilding, the entire case is held together with tension tabs which are a b**ch to open simultaneously if you have only two arms. I took over 50 pictures of the whole process and if I figure out how to shrink the file sizes down and post them with captiions I'll have a disassembly/reassembly tutorial for xboxbrew. The replacement case looks nice and there is plenty of room for lights. Although the 360's case isnt as easy as the original Xbox's It wasnt all that bad to get apart. Had I not paid for the 2-year warranty Id do mine also.

I see you are right, 43.99 at divineo. Probably around 55 after shipping but still cheaper than he paid. Then again I may have gotten that tidbit of info wrong. Oh and those two red cables are SATA cables which connect to the DVD drive. He drilled an opening in the back where the port is fastened so that he can just plug his computer to it that way without having to take the dvd drive out each time he wants to back up one of his games.

Well, he did that dual firmware hack with his Samsung/Toshiba DVD drive. He needed a specific brand of PCI card w/ SATA ports (I think only one PCI card model works otherwise you need to have onboard on your PC. Most people remove their DVD drives to hook it up to their PCs but he ran a short cable from the xbox 360 motherboard to the drive then another that goes from the dvd drive out to the back of the case where he just cut a hole the size of the port and mounted it there. This way all he has to do is plug a cable already attached to his PC into the back of the 360 when he wants to make a backup instead of taking the damn thing apart everytime.

Oh and by the way, this weekend he and i are going to take apart our wireless 360 controllers and change out the leds in the ring and put lights in the back and start buttons. Neither of us have ever soldered surface mount LEDs before and its supposed to be tough so wish me luck.
