psp downgrade

i tried to downgrade my friend's 2.6 psp through GTA. Everything seemed okay, but i looked at his system info and it said his version was 7.5 instead of 1.5. Is there even such a version? It wont play games either. Does anyone know how to fix it? :?:

Are you sure the 1 just doesn't look like a 7? Or maybe there is a custom font installed into your friends PSP from the 1.5 dump. It sounds somewhat illogical that it would say 7.5, if you take a picture of the screen (and cover your MAC address if you so desire like everyone else) showing the firmware version and nickname. PM it to me or post it in this thread so we can see if it really messed up while downgrading so that it displays 7.5, hoping for your reply to see what's really wrong.

Thanks Terdinglage, sorry I've never really wanted to use apps like X-Flash, so I never knew it would turn out as 7.5, thanks for the info!

Two extremely simple fixes, gosh I have to disable guest posting though . Anyways, your games dont play because the hardware in the UMD Drive hasnt reset for the new firmware yet, pull out your PSPs battery for a few seconds. As for the version, it was set to 7.5 by a flash modification program like XFlash. I suggest getting the latest version of XFlash, and then pluggin your PSP into the wall and restoring default settings. We dont have the latest XFlash installed so hit up PSPUpdates. Congratulations on the successful downgrade and welcome to the PSP-Scene.
