Going Online with Downgraded Flashed PSP

Hey guys. Question.

Can you go online with a down-flashed PSP and...let's name them... "memory card games', you know...

I know a modded PS2 cannot enter the online Sony network with illegal games. I have to turn the modchip off and buy original games to go online. How's that with the PSP?

Looking to buy a PSP, it's a 2.6 that I want to downgrade to 1.5, and play some funny games through the network with strangers.

To be possible, or not to be possible, that's the question.

You cannot downgrade factory 2.5/2.6. As for going online with ISO's you can.

You can't ? What about the 2.5/2.6 -> 1.5 downgraders on this page ?

http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/35

You mean that every factory 2.6 is technicly different from a 2.00 or 1.5 that has been legally upgraded to 2.6 ?

i thought no matter what PSP you have from 2.6 and downwards versions, as long as it is not a 2.71 and 2.8, it could be downgraded to 1.5 with the right tools.

Guess I was misinformed ?

Factory 2.5/2.6 firmware is the Ta-082 Motherboard which you have since you say its factory.
Sorry but with that you willl never be able to downgrade (if you get the mod chip you can switch betweeen firmwares though)
But you would have to get another psp. Try getting a used one.

Ah I see, so it's about the motherboard. But what is that 2.5/2.6 downgrade program for then ?

Is it for an older factory version that was updated in the proces to a legal 2.6 firmware version, which can then be downgraded to 1.5 again ?

And is there anywhere I can see if it is a TA-082 motherboard, because it's a second hand PSP I was refering to (although recently bought by these people who sell), and I don't know if these people have upgraded it from maybe a 2.01 version to 2.6, or if it's a factory 2.6. If it would be a native 2.01 or 2.21, I would be able to downgrade, right ?

It downgrades.
A lot of psp's dont have a tA-082 motherboard. You're apparently does. If you do not, then we need to know.
To check, look at you're umd drive.
Is there any writing any where? If there is, then you have a TA-082 Motherboard. If you don't see any writing, its not a TA-082 motherboard, which means you should be able to downgrade.

Or you can just use THIS. Easier to visualize then to imagine, plus I'm always happy to keep the link around :D .
Back, and playing with my "zompsp".

I made the guy who's selling check the PSP (can't do it myself, he's living elsewhere quite some distance), and he's saying there is a IC6001 number on the PCB motherboard, so it must be a TA-081 or less motherboard.

He also confirmed to me that although he bought the thing only three weeks ago, he updated it from the first moment he got online to 2.6 (he didn't know what version it was before), so that's double confirmation for me that it's a 2.01 or less factory-PSP without TA-082, with hopefully no problems to downgrade.

I'll be happy to join the PSP owners club this night, when I'm going to buy it at his home. Thanks for your help guys, I'll let ya know if it worked.

That's cool, looking especially forward to GT4 Online on PSP and Killzone PSP (when they're released). But Socom is a cool game to play online too.

I got my PSP yesterday, it's indeed a IC6001 on 2.6, but didn't know that with the easy downgrader-pack you had to own a copy of GTA LCS (unpatched version).

I found a guy who will downgrade my PSP to 1.5, so I don't have to buy a copy of GTA (no rentals here). I hope to test out all the ISO's and homebrew stuff on sunday when it's gonna be done.
