I also have an older mac G4 and a fairly new PC laptop but I dont care enough about the PC to even look at the specs. They gave it to me to use at home and on trips for work but I use it mostly to transfer files when I set up directories and apps on modded xbox hard drives since it's easy just to move and plug a laptop in to my router while my macs are on the second floor connected wirelessly (when youre transfering gigs and gigs of data wired connections make a huge difference  Carrying a laptop that weighs a few pounds into the next room is a lot easier than unplugging all my devices and carrying a 22 pound computer down the stairs just to plug in a cat5 cable.

When I first started using Macs I wasn't crazy about them either, but after a while you get hooked. If you do anything in the field of science, graphic design, animation, or photography there is no comparison. They have MS office for it so any saved files can be used on a PC and vice versa so that sort of compatability is a non-issue. The security factor and the stabality of the OS can't be beat either, but if you like to play games on your computer youre better off with a PC. I myself would much rather play video games from a couch on a reasonable sized TV with a good home theatre system then sitting at a chair using a keyboard about a foot from the screen though. I can play World of Worldcraft smoothly with all the options turned on and to the maximum on my G5 but again, Im not into sitting in a chair when I game so I rarely play. When the intel Power macs come out they should be quite good for gaming but more than likely you'll need to install windows to run games which kind of defeats the purpose of spending that kind of dough on an apple anyway.

I don't know which video is on the flash pack but if it is the one I think you are talking about all the widows and screen shots they showed were from OS 8, which was from, back in the days when a 200MB hard drive was mammoth. OS X is a UNIX based OS and is extremely stable. The kind of computational analyses that I run could never be achieved on a windows based OS, not at this time anyway. I’ve never experienced a crash, a virus, a trojan, the performance of an "illegal operation", problem with registries (a different system is used), never needed to run a hard drive defragmentation, or experienced any sort of hardware failure. About the only thing I’ve ever had a problem with was a bad Samsung memory module I purchased through the Internet, which was quickly replaced for free (Samsung memory carries a lifetime warranty).

Maybe your "skool" should update their computers and hire some English teachers
