This forum has a SQL database. Sometimes the database gets a glitch and gets resetted. Often this happens on the server's side. The only thing the client can do is notify them of the error and hopefully they can reset the server or run a SQL script to fix the problem (if they know what table had the error--normally the error code everyone got to see, clearly points out what table in the database is the problem).

Now to be sure someone hacked this phpBB site. If they got in. They probably delete a few tables (normally all the content of the forum) and then they left a watermark of some kind letting you all know it got hacked! That what they normally do as such reports if read at www.phpbb.com Word to the wise, if you run a phpBB forum always be sure you running the most current version. There are a lot of hackers who love messing up a phpBB forum just for kicks. The latest phpBB version is: 2.0.21 If you have lots of Mods and hate having to upgrade hire a pro. This guy knows what he is doing: link: MOD Pro phpBB updates and hacks services and installations

Other sites like ecommerce places normally do get attacked frequently from foreigners such as China, North Korea or other nations that run their countries without any laws. These are the sites that get attacked and its more about getting credit card and $$$ from them than messing up with the look of their place. One thing they normally always do is mimic the website. Then when a customer clicks on a "buy now" button it opens the "fake" website and they get all their credit card info! Yikes! Don't shop anywhere if it doesn't have https: instead of just http: at the start of thier URL. Yes, the "s" after the "p" just shows that site has been validated to be a "good" site.

yeah, when they send you fake suites, it's called "phishing"
people get fooled everyday by these things!

and dude, what if the hacker did want to be traced so he didn't leave " a mark"?

he was probably using a proxy or a progam like hide ip platinum, but
he was probably just trying to be safe.

I tried that once.. and man.. was I so vulnerable. As soon as I was faking my IP.. Norton Anti-Virus was stating that my account was no good! So I was open for anyone to hack my system since my firewall was not working and my anti-virus wasn't working! If local hackers use this to just fake their IP, man! They are really asking for a big donkey whooping.. if they ever get caught and get screwed on their backend! LOL!

I don't know a lot about hacking.. but the little that I know.. scares the be-jesus out of me!

lol

dude, wtf? norton said your account was not vaild?
that's so gay i've never heard of that happening....

what did you do? did u use a program for proxy, or did u do it manually....

and proxies are 100% legal (as long as you don't do anything ILLIGAL with them)

and my ip is ALWAYS faked lol. i never go on the net without faking it

Mailas

Post Tue Aug 08, 2006 12:50 pm

Not again.........guys hes spazzing out again.
"Mailas can't hack!!!! Haha, I dont even have no proof!"

when i tried to go on the site,
it just gave me some code.

did something happen?

Its called sql -_- obviously terdinglage or someone else was fixing something on the site.
Even I of all people who apparrently you think is the most clueless person in the world knew that

Sorry pspruler, youre wrong lol, I couldnt of done it since i was camping, I too tried to get on pspbrew since I was able to get internet from where I was (i was staying in a cabin) but when I went there I couldnt go on since it looked like someone was trying to fix something since it
was an sql error.

I know, it sounds like this was the work of Mailas, but this is definately not a hack. Domains like php are hard to hack unless you know what you're doing with an sql database.

If it were hacked, it would of been an sql injection FOR SURE. But its no hack.
