Quite Possible to downgrade almost any firmware

Their is a way to bypass this message "The system software of your PSP system is ersion X.XX. There is no need to upgrade."
Its just the one byte hex mod for the eboot.pbp.
Take the a firmware for example like 2.70, hex edit lets say: the 0 in the file the 2.70 string just before the PNG part have it say 2.71
and then, all you have to do is just put it on a memory stick and it should bypass.
Like lets say firmware 2.00 on another memory stick that you like installed on your PSP.
Now, stick the bypass one in your PSP and go to run , as soon as the screen goes white with PSP in big shown, start pressing the power button untill it turns off.
Put your desire firmware in your PSP and turn it on.

"The system software of your PSP system is version X.XX. There is no need to upgrade."
There should be no more of the question of what do to since you have just bypassed the message!
PLEASE, IF YOU ATTEMPT, DO NOT BLAME MAILAS IF UR PSP HAS PROBLEMS AFTER, THIS NEEDS SOMEONE TO TEST IT SO BE CAREFUL. So anyone suppose this could get a try?

I wouldn't reccomend testing this theory if you are willing to do something with you're psp, also,
swaploit is only to get the eboot to run so yeah, this could work.

i remember you spitting words at this theory before on a thread...
also... it is impossible to downgrade by changing an update file to run
(ex. running 1.5 update on 2.7)
when you update it is like adding puzzle peices to an incomplete puzzle
and when you try to update again, its like adding pieces to a puzzle that has those pieces already... you cannot replace the whole firmware in an update, you just add stuff to it

Ive never made this kind of thread before, now you're putting words into my mouth
You were probably thinking of that 2.8 rumor downgrade, well that was impossible, this could work.

I don't know what you're talking about but you can't just do that, you should be able to do it by bypassing the message where there would be no need to update.
Plus you're not adding anything to the firmware (does that even make sense lol??)

im not sure how to put this
but think of it this way

you have a box of puzzle pieces that does not include the whole puzzle. this is the original pieces <<== psp
you go out and buy some more of the puzzle pieces to that puzzle. this set is called set 1 <<== psp update
you go out and buy yet again, more puzzle pieces to that puzzle, that again, expands the original size of the puzzle. this set is called set 2 <<== newer psp update

ok? you with me?

now... this is your theory

you would be able to go out, and buy set 1, and add those pieces to a puzzle that already has the original, set 1, and set 2
this would be impossible, for the pieces in the newly perchased set 1, would have no were to go... the gaps and spaces were they go are already filled by the first set 1 you bought

ok... now lets translate this whole thingy

you cannot update your firmware to an older version, because the information that is installed on the psp inside the update is already there

DOUBLE POST MERGE

but im just saying that part wouldnt work,
if this could work, you would have to make a downgrader by hand

Okay enough with the puzzle.
Dude, its just the one byte hex mod for the eboot.pbp.
Thats the hack, as soon as the PSP screen goes white start pressing Power.
The bypass has been breached.
I don't know any way more of how to explain this to you...

PS:
Someone merge his post, he double posted.
