..........................................................
ok.......
Well to be honest yes their is but it could brick you're PSP.
How? Well thats only if you have a TA-082 Mother board PSP.
If you do, please tell us, to find out if you do, look on the UMD Drive, is there any enscriptions or lettering on it? If not, you do not have a TA-082 mother board!
Which means, you can use the 2.5/2.6 downgrader located HERE
FOR THE LOVE OF MERCY, DOWNGRADE!

To find out if you have a TA-082 mother board, yes, open the drive and look inside where you're umd mostly goes.

YES u should downgrade i think its kind of rare for a psp to brick while downgrading cuz most of my friends did and it didnt brick downgrading and playing retro games is like the best thing to do in the psp!

newpspdude, welcome to pspbrew.com! I see you're a new comer.
Anyways, mostly, when you downgrade pspdude, youre VERY likely to brick you're psp, since that psp may have a TA-082 mother board on it.
To check, just go to im_on_the_computer's link and go to the back of you're UMD drive and look for what it sais on the picture posted above. If whats there is there, its a TA-082 motherboard, enabling you to brick you're PSP while using the downgrade Dark_Alex gave out.
If its not a TA-082 mother board, then you can downgrade without bricking you're PSP.
You're friends PSP's however were not TA-082 motherboards (which is good) so that explains why they were able to downgrade.

Again, welcome to the site.
