ok i am making this more for my bro for when he joins but here is a quick and short little explination of this site and psp hombrew all together---
Important things and their definitions---
ISO-copyd UMD, or "backed up UMD
Firmware version- Sony makes these updates to prevent hombrew and give the psp more capabilities
Flashing- basicly dose what a firmware update dose, rights data to the psp's 32 megabyte flash memory
Kernal mode- needed to run most homebrew, needed for a downgrader for a firmware update
Custom firmware- mainly for 1.5, allows psp users to flash special data to their psp to allow special modual to be uses (ask for further explination)
or Dark_AleX's new 2.71 Special Edition (ask for further explination
Homebrew(lol)- comes from the idea of home made beer, applied to home made games (on this site specificly psp games)
Devhook and anything related to it- a program made by a god named BOOSTER, allows 1.5 psp's to emulate firmwares up to 2.71, or vice versa, via firmware dumps
firmware dumps/decripters- decripters dump the firmware, having a firmware dump is basicly having all the files that are to be flashed to the psp when updating
Shells- basicly a custom XMB(cross media bar (psp main menue)), with most advanteges of a 1.5 custom firmware
