yup, apparently it was the USB cable. i switched the one i was using for my PSP ( which had a USB charger on it ) i believe it wasnt factory made. to my Sony Mini Disk USB connector and now it works. its weird...i dont even need to have my PSP connected onto the USB and itll say it doesnt find the USB unit haha..
