2.6 downgrade to 1.5 questions

Ok... I've read the tutorial and i've made the necessary checks regarding the motherboard and I'm good. My main concern is the GTA "unpatched" version. How can you tell whether the GTA copy is "unpatched" or not? The sales rep at EB games told me that there is the original release and the newer release "PSP Greatest hits" I'm assuming the the "PSP Greatest Hits" UMD is the "patched" version. So i picked up the original release of GTA from them. Now, WHAT IF the copy that i purchased (original release) is a "patched" version and i attempt the downgrade process, will this "brick" my PSP?

and also, what other homebrew stuff do i need to d/l and install on to my psp in order for me to play videos and PSP ISOs?

ok.... i got down to step 8 on Mailas_Gs tutorial. I went to the memory stick and clicked on the "DownDate Test" and it prompted "This game cannot be started. The data is corrupted."

Does that mean I have a patched version of GTA:LCS?

Dont use that tutorial, since it is old and there are higher performances for such procedures.
You can search our downloads section for something called the Easy Downgrader. That tutorial is hard to remember, I belive at step 8 you don't flash anything if Im correct, then you should pout the easy downgrader to use.
Use at you're own risk.

well it seems that I can still load and play GTA:LCS, which i hope is a good thing. Now is it safe to remove all the files that I've copied on to my memory stick? Like can I safely reformat the memory stick?

i tried searching the download section "easy downgrader" but no matches came up. There were results however, none of the results match the program you mentioned.

ok i found this which somewhat matches what you mentioned

Easy 2.50/2.60 downgrader

File Name: Downgrader2.50-2.60ENLGHT.exe

however, you posted the tutorial in late August, but the file i saw in the download section was posted beginning of July.

Sorry. I'm really confused!
