Still unsure about custom firmwares....

Are they all that much better than a 1.5 and devhook?

I know very little about them as have been holding out for a newer version of devhook but I'm starting to take notice of the new C/F that has been released..

Take for instance the new 3.02 Custom Firmware. If i flash that to my 1.5 psp can I change back to 1.5 if i don't like it?
Or if a new C/F comes out can it be installed over the 3.02....


I just don't know what to do, stick with 1.5 or move up to 3.02 Custom.....


Suggestions?...

Yes you can change back to 1.5 if you are displeased (lol fat chance), it comes with a recovery flasher that will take you back to fresh and clean 1.5!

Definetly Update to 3.02 OE-A

and see me on AIM, MSN, or Yahoo if you need a fail-safe method of updating.

ok ok so do i gotta revert my custom 1.5 back to normal if i wanna update to this custom fw? cuz i gotta 1.5 custom and renamed my menus changed my version number also my gameboot and added a custom name plate lol so do i gotta GET RID OF ALL THIS to upgrade?

i would recovery from the 1.5 custom firmware but you dont have to mess with themenus and stuff as i rewrites all that

no, you don't

Teh Installer wipes your flash0 by itself, you could have the most f**ked up flash, but as long as you can still launch homebrew then you can update with no worries.

and if you need help there is an automatic installer I can point you towards.

I have a Harlegs custom firmware on my 1.5... So from what i'm reading i don't have to remove it before i put on 3.02 OE-A... If you could point me to the automatic installer that would be great....

Also can I play by backed up ISO on this firmware or do i still have to run them through devhook?

You can still play ISOs, put it in the ISO folder in you're ROOT.

yes, x-flash is released for 3.02 OE-B

you prbly dont have to get your custom 1.5 back to normal, but its prbly safer. and with any of the SE or OEs there is a no UMD ISO mode so u can have say have LocoRoco ISO and have no UMD inserted and still play

it doesn't matter wether your 1.5 is clean or not, because the OE update wipes your flash anyways.
