I agree with you guys. This seems very fake. Sony has the tools at their disposal to run whatever they want on a psp, there is no reason they would need a custom firmware version b/c they don't advertise psp homebrew.

If they were real, this would be outstandingly stupid on Sony's part.

yeah and? it's not like they have a choice. if they wanted they could even distribute it.

just like we are able to talk about ISOs and even send people ISOs as long as it isn't linked to the site.

they can't have rules against free code.

lol, it was broken before,

anyways, the fact is, TEIN, that if you had half a brain you would have read everything, the article is "Homebrew makes presence felt as sony booth". Geno also said that the Sony PSPs were not using Dark_AleX's Custom Firmware and that it was merely a joke, note that in the second pic if you inspect closely the Nickname is "F**K you Sony"

anyways, I opened the first pic in photoshop and zoomed in to try and make out a few things that I was curious about...

Exactly... -_-
They wouldn't show it on the site because people know it can illegally (or legally) run dumped PSX games,
which they dont want. But like you said they dont have a choice, its not illegal.

I know that Sony can't do anything about it b/c it is free code, and yea, they allow it on their forums, however, Sony is trying harder than any company has ever tried, as far as video games go, to reduce piracy. Having a custom firmware that is known for ps1 games being hacked... and showing it to everybody... that is just stupid if Sony would do it. It would make some devs feel uncomfortable and unwilling to put money into good games. Rather easy to spot the fake though.
