Question About 2.81 - 3.03 -> goofy exploit

Ok i have read up on this and i have basically all the steps covered.

1 - If you have a 3.03 PSP skip to step 6 [check]

2 - Download 3.03 update from here:
http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-3.03-PSP/ ... /catid/163 [link doesnt give me a rar file]

3 - Unzip and place the file in <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE [created the folder using noobz.eu download]

8 - Load GTA LCS [i aquired a legit 2.00 copy]

I have a firm grasp of what to do, and i have watched the videos on you tube and google video. I have a firm grasp on flashing from cell phones. But I get a corrupted file error message when i place the eboot file into my upgrade folder.

try redownloading the update file because you may have opened it with another program by accident, like a hex editor or notepad

right to my memory stick and still got a corrupted file instead of downloader

Just asking to make sure and to rule these out... You've renamed the 1.50 EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP?
And it's definitely a GTA LCS 2.0 version?...


On a separate subject, don't suppose you've ever flashed a nokia 6280

My wife has one, but she wont let me flash it

Yeah i am renaming it but it is still showing corupt. I have a 82 mother board so i have to do this right or i brick it

I did this for a friend and had a psp updated to 3.03 and downgraded to 1.5 then upgraded to custom firmware 3.03 oe-c in just over ten minutes. The downgrader works, but you have to follow all steps 100%

I have... like i download the file, and dont touch it. Move it to Update folder and try to run it. It shows a corrupt file. So i delete it. Re-download the file and rename it UPDATE and place it into my update folder. Still shows corrupt. I have tried 3 different links to the eboot file. None show they work. I am confident i can do this but i need to get to 3.03 first and thats my trouble.

and put it in the UPDATE folder
inside the game folder
inside the psp folder
and just to be sure
this isnt a downgrader nor is it an exploit of any kind

well i used the like noted in the nooz.eu and followed everything to the T and i am going to the Game option on psp, select saved data and it is a corrupt file.

I reccomended pspbrew to this guy, whos on Honda-Tech.com

We've got a rather large PSP homebrew thread going and I havn't been able to help him :S I figured you guys could. I thought it was possibly just a corrupt download. Thats he's nt doing anything wrong, its just the file itself.

yup thats me. I dont know what is wrong with this. I have tried for about 3 hours today... and still not working. Every damn time i find a downgrader from 2.81 - 3.03 it always shows corrupted.

are you trying to downgrade from 2.1 to 3.03?
that's updating
you shouldnt need the 3.03 update file to downgrade

that is the steps from the noobz directions. I am doownloading that file but it is not a rar.. just an eboot. SO i place that file in the directed location and i try to go on my psp to Game->Savedata->and it is a corrupt file. Then i try Game-> Memory Stick-> and i have all the files needed.

nevermind, i found a good link that worked for me. I now have a version 1.50. The only problem is, i can set wireless settings, but i cannot choose a browser yet. The option doesnt appear after games on my psp.

thats because it dosnt have a browser ill pm you a link for a custom firmware
