its always been out there and very good marketing. It is a muti-media handheld so why not? But you do have a point though and yes.... just wait because sony did say "A 2 year handheld console at the price of $200.00 + is not good...." Keep that in mind.
But disregarding the price issue of the psp, you really see a lot of game development companies start to "ignore" the psp. They either aren't making games anymore for it or they are taking their sweet time on them. My guess would be because Sony keeps attempting to stop piracy, but at the same time, they are failing over and over again. If I were a game development company and I had seen that Sony made new firmwares to "patch" the security... only to see the new version decrypted with the same key as before... I mean, that's just something I wouldn't have much faith in.
I started personally having less faith in the psp game sales/ game development when Polyphony Digital scrapped Gran Turismo 4 Portable because in all honesty, that was one of the reasons I used to justify me getting a psp. I may not like how Nintendo targets a generally younger audience, but they have their marketing strategy down and they know how to maintain a stable business. I really hope Sony straightens out the problems with the psp though. I think Sony should quit being so worried about the "UMD writers" and sell them to game development companies so that the prices for psp games and movies would drop... b/c we all know that many psp users that download illegal isos are doing so b/c they don't agree with the price of psp games.
Sorry about the rant, but yea... any good game for the psp, is a step forward I think.
