The psp homebrew scene is for fans of games. I say that, because it plays nearly every important video gaming system through emulation up until the machines that really overpower it. I grew up on Pacman. I enjoy it as a classic, as well as a piece of what made me who I am today. I remember the different games we had for our Atari 2600 and Sega Genesis and now I can relive those on a great system with a GORGEOUS display with wonderful sound and in some cases, wireless 2 player mode between friends... and that's just a SMALL aspect of psp homebrew.

Not only that, but I own a pretty large collection of psp games as well - yes I said OWN. But anyways, the psp offers home console games on a portable device, as well as playing music and being able to keep photos - which many people/ groups have actually made specialized "magazines" for use on the psp that can be hundreds of pages long.

What can you do on your psp?... nothing... if you don't appreciate games.

Well people often ask for more out of the psp... and I just don't understand WHAT more they could want. Many of the people that say that the psp doesn't offer enough features are the people that go out and buy a Nintendo DS. Which, the DS is a good game system, but generally targets a younger audience and has SIGNIFICANTLY less features than the psp. For instance, if you were to NEVER play games on the DS, you would have a VERY dull piece of hardware in your hands. I think you would still be able to pictochat (a feature that you can talk electronically within 30 feet or so a.k.a. - talking distance) but other than that, you have a worthless system. But if you were to never play games on the PSP... then you would be able to:

~put pictures on the psp
~customize the main menu
~put a basic calculator on it - or a mock of the Ti-83 calculator - over $100 value alone
~have a calendar
~listen to music
~watch videos
~have access to RSS videos and things
~be able to access the internet in a pretty good web browser - but just not a full-featured one
~use the "remote play" to interact with the PS3
~transfer music to the PS3
~use the location free dock (or pmpstreamer or w/e) to stream content wirelessly
~share pictures wirelessly with friends
~compose fun beats with psprhythm
~use instant messenger applications

and much more.

So before someone thinks that the psp is worthless compared to any alternatives or isn't surprised by what it can do, I just have to wonder "what the hell do you want it to do?". It does ^ all of those things, and the games are far more superior than any other handheld gaming device ever made to date.

Get Turtles In Time for the snes emulator.

Turtles in time is epic. Video game ninja turtles is where it's at. They're the only time you actually see a ninja turtle stab some thing or show any real violence. Notice in the cartoons not a single guy gets slashed, they just manage to one punch KO every one of the dudes. LOL.
