Emulators

Hey guys.

Just wondering if you can tell me your favorite emulators (games) and where to get them.
I want to maximize my PSP's capabilities.

Thanks, Reigo.

I stil like the nesterJ emulator, you can find all the emulators in the PSPBrew download section.
Oh and SNESx9 isn't bad either.

It's against forum rules to share rom links (legal issues). But I will further clarify what FireFoxx has stated.

First and foremost, for emulators you can visit our homepage and in the top left corner click on brewpacks. There, you can download most emulators.

NES~ Look for NesterJ. I think the latest release is version 1.20 alpha or something. It will play nearly all NES games without a hitch.

SNES~ look for snes9x tyl 4.2.0 I think it is. It will play about 98% of SNES games but around 20% may have slight speed issues. Some can be fixed pretty nicely though.

N64~ Look for Daedalus R10. R11 will be out "soon" also and will address compatibility issues. This emulator is still very much in development and most games either don't play or play very slowly. Games like Mario 64 and Super Mario Kart - given slight tweaks, can be played at nearly full speed and are quite fun to play ;)

GBA~ look for gpsp09. This emulator will play about 92% of all GBA games perfectly. The emulator lacks more advanced features, but still has all the main functions you'd expect out of an emulator. The author has primarily been working on bug fixes for certain roms to work instead of working diligently on adding more advanced features.

*edit*
I'm just going to move this to the Help section for now.

Firmware 1.5 with custom 3.03 oe-c to run NesterJ, etc.

i'm so pissed!!!! I safely downgraded from 2.81 to 1.5 then upgraded to a custom 3.03 oe-c. And now I'm trying to install homebrew stuff and emus. right now what really pissing me off is that I'm trying to run Nester J first and keeps giving an error message. damn, my desktop on my pc are like, mixed with files to use to experiment to put my psp and stuff. I even got the software seipsptool and still i couldn' run the nesterj emulator. Is it the rom thingy? I have to drag it to the nester j folder? or the nester j% folder? which folder I have to create a ROM folder to put the roms? sigh~~~~~ And the roms that I have are like about a thousand roms i collected and all winrar-ed. Shall I extract them and drag them to the rom folder I've created? or leave the WinRar game rom as is and drag them to the roms folder? confusing.

There is a tutorial in how to do it. but i guess i went to forum where an 'actual' 13 yr old is explaing the details. I don't really understand his explanation. 'Cuz the engish an typing was kinda broken and full of fragmented sentences. Can Somone point me to the right direction please? Step-by-step without all the confusion? And another thing too. IF I really manage to pull it off from you guys, is there a way i can get rid of those annoying corrupted icons on my psp?

I would greatly appreciate it if somebody would hook-a-brutha up?! Same thing with 'snes9xtyl' (Are they the same procedures in preparing just like Nester J? Explain all these to me please? I'm a noob and always an open ear for learning.

Thanks guys and god bless you all!!

you need to fix your recovery mode to run homebrew.

Turn your psp off, then While holding R, turn it on.

Then go to "Configuration" and set the "Game Homebrew Folder" from 3.30 to 1.50.

then they will work like they did on 1.5

Got it! Thanks, supashay! Now, I have like seven PSX Games in my psp. I wanna add more tho. Is there such an emulator for the psx to add psx games in it from my collection I have? So, I can zip them too just like the nester j, snes, etc.? It'll be cool if there is. So, that i'll have more room in my 4G memory stick. If there's nothin' do I have to look for a 8G? Or, if I don't need to and/or if there's no emulator yet for it, I heard that there's a way to compress the .iso files more. Where can I find that?

Heehee Is there any other 'best' option for me to do? Please help! Thanks guys!!
